Marketing
Marketing is the most important part of any SecondGen club. Remember to market to a diverse student pool. This means you need to market to many different niche groups along with the general public. Remember that SecondGen is a club for students from many different verticals -- primarily film, computer science, and art -- to develop and incorporate their passion into a business idea.
When you pitch your SecondGen Club, keep it simple. Here's an example:
"SecondGen is a place for students of all talents to come together to learn, build, and compete with like minded individuals."
Who you should reach out too?
Reach out to all students! Even if their passion does not reside in film, computer science, or art, we still encourage and teach an entrepreneurial curriculum that can cater to any field.
Why students should join?
The benefits of being a SecondGen member are endless but we made a short list emphasizing some of them.

How to reach out?
Posters
- Have posters for your club in the hallways and in classrooms to exposes students to your club and reminds your members on where and when the club meets.
Social Media
- Social Media should be your number one method to recruit new members. Use facebook/twitter pages, groups, and post to get more member involved with your club. Also you can use this as a place to post what your club is doing so that it can market to students throughout the year.
Club Fair
- Most schools have a day for advertising clubs or an orientation day at the beginning of each semester. It's highly recommended that you have a presence at this event as this is your opportunity to get the most important members (freshmen and sophomores) to your first club meeting. Make sure you are interacting with students, maybe even bribe them with food also don't forget to collect contact info so that you can remind them before the first meeting
Other
- School Announcements/paper - mention the location and date of your first meeting and introduce it to students then!
Long Term
- Awesome Projects - possible business ideas
- Make it something people talk about
- Have community events that are open to everyone
Tips
- You should aim to have double the sign ups of how many students you want at your first meeting. For example is you want 20 people at your meeting you should try to get 40 sign ups.
